The WinkBed and Nolah Evolution 15-Inch both come in a range of firmness options, and we tried them both in Luxury Firm. The Avocado Green is also a latex mattress that was very cooling and bouncy with a slightly firmer feel than the Birch. The Birch Natural is a latex mattress that was cool-to-the-touch and very responsive, that was still cushioning enough for side sleeping. In our labs, we found that the firmness, motion isolation, and temperature control of each of these mattresses varied. The composition of these upper layers often impacts how firm or soft the feel of the mattress is in general. Hybrid mattresses can be made with different types or thicknesses of foam layers padding an innerspring core.
